The Costume Institute Gala at the MET is an annual ball that celebrates the opening of the fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. This year was in tribute to the late Alexander McQueen and followed what was the ultimate exposure of that Wedding Dress in London.
The red carpet for this event was by far one of the best I have ever seen, not only was it the A-list of all A-list in attendance, it was also some of the most amazing and interesting outfits that I've seen this year. It's refreshing to see a red carpet which is so inspiring. There was a definite theatrical element to the whole event and as
Natalia Vodianova reported, "Certain pieces were almost torturous in a way. I saw so many girls almost faint backstage." The drama of Alexander McQueen was definitely reflected in the red carpet.
