I'll admit, I have just recently discovered the brilliance that is french luxury brand Celine. It's refined, strong yet feminine and However, now that I am officially obsessed, here are some fast facts to keep all those who were also in the dark in the know.
When the head designer leaves their job, it's probably going to be for something better. So when Phoebe Philo left Chloe to work for Celine, one would assume that great things were about to happen....having looked further into Philo, her resume is outrageous.
It goes something like this: Design assistant to Stella McCartney at Chloe, takes over head designer from McCartney and then receives British Designer of the Year, takes a few years off and then gets appointed head designer of Celine.
Two more facts about Celine that I can't let go and then I'm done. So it began as a children's footwear business in 1945 AND completely unrelated but just as interesting Michael Kors worked as head designer from 1997 to 2004.
OK enough. Or one more?
Phoebe Philo is name checked in Kanye West's "Dark Fantasy". DONE
